For all healthcare workers in a sterile
environment who are sensitive to
Type I and/or Type IV allergies.
Today, healthcare professionals are highly conscious of the allergic risks
linked to natural or synthetic rubber latex gloves, among them Type IV
allergies. Clinical evidence shows they represent up to 28% of glove-related
allergic reactions, with up to 90% of these Type IV allergies due to vulcanisation
accelerators*.
Vulcanisation accelerators are
traditionally used to accelerate the
linkage of rubber molecules in
natural or synthetic rubber. Although
many gloves on the market aim at
minimising residual accelerators, it
is impossible to define an acceptable
level for these components because
all allergic reactions are based on
individual sensitivity.
In addition to being free of latex
proteins (preventing Type I allergies),
Gammex® PF DermaPrene® is
accelerator-free.

Ideal for allergy prevention
Gammex® PF DermaPrene® offers a massive reduction in potential skin
reactions and allergies.
- It minimises the risk of Type IV
allergies because it is free
of accelerators.
- It prevents Type I allergies because
it is free of latex proteins.
- It limits the risk of dermatitis
for the wearer because it is
powder-free.
- It limits granuloma or adhesion
risks for the patient because
it is powder-free.
Latex-like comfort and ease-of-use
Gammex® PF DermaPrene® is
constructed from a unique blend of
neoprenes to provide outstanding
flexibility and stretch levels in use.
Fabricated using a special former, the
glove has a curved fit and a greater
width across the hand. This reduces
pressure on overworked areas such as
the thumb ball and palm, confirmed
through tests covering 10 key
pressure points. The result is much
higher comfort for the wearer,
especially valuable during lengthy
operative procedures.
An extra-length cuff with an adhesive
band provides improved grip on the
sleeve and prevents roll-down for a
secure fit. Moreover, the film
thickness is carefully controlled to
ensure optimum sensitivity.

Easy donning, even with damp hands
A water-based (polyurethane)
synthetic inner coating ensures easy
donning on either dry or damp hands
thanks to the use of
hydrophobic and
hydrophilic components.
Hydrophobic
components reduce
friction and blocking.
Hydrophilic components
release a lubricant
when in contact with wet
hands, thereby improving donning
and making intra-operative changes
easier. This inner coating also
facilitates easy double-gloving when
additional safety is required.
Excellent handling and grip
The Gammex® PF DermaPrene®
glove provides an excellent grip on
instruments in both wet and dry
conditions. This is achieved through
a unique external surface treatment
applied during manufacture. The
grip values are continuously verified
and monitored by friction testing
online and during post-processing.
Unparalleled safety
As the leader in synthetic surgical
gloves across Europe, Gammex® PF
DermaPrene® has built a proven
reputation as a reliable protective
barrier. Safety is assured through
quality controls before, during and
after final packaging, guaranteeing
a low risk of pinholes and high
barrier protection.
- Quality control is assured, based
on AQL inspection procedures
(water leak tested): conformity to European norm
EN 455-1: inspection level I AQL 1.5, manufacturing final release:
inspection level I AQL 1.0, in process control before packaging:
inspection level II AQL 0.65.
- Greater resistance to tear and
puncture than most latex and other
synthetic gloves.
- Excellent fat resistance, for a longlasting
glove in all kinds of surgery.
- High resistance to alcohol and a
broad range of chemical products.
- Strong resistance to viral penetration
is verified by extensive
bacteriophage test results
(see the Ansell AVPP brochure).
- Greater patient protection, based on
close monitoring of pyrogen and
endotoxin levels (biocompatibility
test as per ISO 10993).
- Low particle levels result from
limited residual production-based
powder (releasing agent).
- Easy shelf identification, plus links
to manufacturing data supported
by lot numbers.
