Ansell has been a well-established name with leading car manufacturers for many years now. Based on years of expertise and know-how, Ansell targets the automotive industry with dedicated solutions that protect workers’ hands from the risks - heat, paint, oils, sharp and abrasive objects, etc. – they are exposed to. In 2007, Ansell decided to step up its commitment to provide optimal protection to include a segment where the use of gloves is fairly uncommon: the world of rallying.

85 % does not use hand protection!

In spite of the risks, a staggering amount - over 85%! - of the maintenance teams at regional rally championships don’t wear protective gloves. Because they think donning gloves is a waste of time, gloves are ‘uncomfortable’ or simply ‘not cool enough’. Most garage-owners and mechanics outside the rallying circuit leave their hands unprotected as well, often for the same reasons. And if gloves are worn, then they often won’t be the most appropriate ones… Ansell is determined to turn that tide, by making the world of motorsports more familiar with its brand – and hand protection as a whole.

A jump-start for young talent

Supporting young rally drivers fits perfectly in Ansell’s strategy to continually raise awareness, educate and help people choose the right hand protection. In addition, Ansell’s support of the FFST team also has another reason: just like Ford, Ansell aims to give young talent a jump-start towards success.The purpose of the Trophy is to launch young, ambitious drivers into the world of rallying. Just like Ansell wants to attract, coach and nurture talent and help them become top players.
