Brussels, 4th December 2012 – Ansell, a global leader in protective solutions, today announces a three-year strategic growth plan for the French region, focussing on delivering market leading personal protective solutions to the construction sector. The plan will see Ansell meet its ambition of becoming the market leader in hand protection for the building and construction industry in France. The company made the announcement at Expoprotection, The Exhibition for Risk Prevention and Management in Paris this week (D109 in Hall 7.2).
With statistics showing that the French construction market accounts for almost a fifth of the total EU-27 construction sector*, France offers a key growth opportunity for Ansell. The company has conducted research that shows the value of the French building and construction sector to be estimated at €42 billion.* * Ansell intends to capitalise on this opportunity by leveraging its wealth of experience in the construction segment and 100 year history of providing tailor made leading protective solutions across all industry segments worldwide.
The Ansell ActivArmr® Construction family of products is engineered to meet the real world extremes of the construction industry. In September 2012 Ansell launched its ActivArmr Multipurpose Gloves, completing its collection of trade specific gloves to meet the needs and personal protection requirements in the construction industry. With plans to further enhance the range, Ansell is working on providing dedicated solutions to protect against risks such as vibration and thermal hazards.
The Ansell approach is two-tiered, focused on direct dialogue to engage with both construction companies and professional trade distributors in France. Initially, two Ansell sales managers with primary focus on the construction segment, will carry out trial initiatives of the ActivArmr Construction family of products in the Ile de France area. These experts in worker safety and protection will meet with each of the construction companies in the region and provide them the opportunity to experience the benefits of the ActivArmr range. Furthermore, consistent with the Ansell culture of providing tailored solutions for end-users, they will seek feedback from these companies as to their specific safety requirements, in order to continually provide them with the best Ansell solutions engineered to meet their needs.

Additionally, multicard agents will meet with trade distribution companies in France to expand the reach of the ActivArmr Construction range to the tradesmen. Ansell is currently in partnership with Brossette, a leading French supplier of building and construction products, specialised in plumbing, heating and sanitary. The new collaboration involves interactive in-store demonstrations, as well as educational programmes for retail staff in the Paris region. In addition, Ansell has developed planograms and self-selling merchandising tools and has recruited a demonstrator/merchandiser to communicate the premium features and benefits of the ActivArmr glove range to end- users such as tradesmen and contractors. Based on its successful implementation to date across 35 shops at Ile de France, Ansell wishes to roll out this experience nationwide in 2013.
