Global leader in hand protection engages with construction workers
through safety journey on site
Brussels, 27 October 2008 - Ansell Healthcare, the global leader in personal protection products, is bringing its targeted hand protection solutions for the building and construction industry to the field. Its first ever 2008 Building & Construction Tour - Putting safety in your hands - will allow construction and building workers to test the range of dedicated safety gloves through entertaining demonstrations on-site. The November tour will start with a sneak preview at the Interbuild 2008 trade fair at the NEC in Birmingham and will then visit a number of large construction sites in the London area.
The 2008 Building & Construction Tour: an engaging live experience
Construction workers are constantly on the move, which makes it hard to reach them. Nevertheless, it is of the utmost importance for these workers to protect their hands and wear the correct gloves for each job. That is why Ansell devised an original way to meet its target audience in person. During November, the Ansell bespoke interactive vehicle, a converted fire truck, will tour large construction sites in the London area. Prominent on the programme are the building sites in and around the new Olympic locations and Heathrow airport.
Construction and building workers at the selected sites will be able to personally experience the quality and added value of the dedicated range of building and construction gloves. How? Through live demonstrations and hands-on investigation of the gloves for size, strength, comfort, tactility, vibration resistance and protection against chemicals, cuts and abrasion - all under the careful eye of a trained hostess.
Kick-off at Interbuild 2008
This unique initiative will be launched at Interbuild 2008, the UK's largest trade fair for building professionals that takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 26 to 30 October 2008. As well as showcasing its large portfolio of hand protection solutions at its stand, visitors will also be able to participate in testing the range of building and construction gloves at the Ansell bespoke interactive vehicle, positioned at the main Interbuild entrance (P1) near to hall 5 from the 26 to 29 October.
The Ansell bespoke interactive vehicle will be accessible during the opening hours of the exhibition (from 9:30 am till 5:00 pm), Sunday through Wednesday. Ansell experts will be available at stand number H40, Hall 5 to answer all questions about Ansell products and services, Sunday through Thursday.
A range of gloves designed for building and construction professionals
Construction has a wide range of jobs and applications. To answer this complexity in a simple fashion, Ansell has determined a range of nine gloves that have the ability to protect from the major risks linked to this industry. This range has been integrated in a poster that helps workers easily choose the most adapted glove. Selection is easy as gloves are proposed for each profession: masons, roofers, tilers, plasterers, carpenters, painters and decorators, and public works employees. Download the poster at:

No matter how diverse the offering, there is one true constant: every Ansell glove seamlessly combines protection with comfort. This is what visitors and site workers will discover while enjoying an entertaining stay at the Ansell test vehicle.
