Brussels, 14 February 2007. Ansell, a world leader in hand protection, will present its latest innovations for industry at the Health & Safety '07 trade fair in Sandown Park from 20 to 21 February 2007. Ansell responds to the market's needs with targeted solutions for problems of grip or sweaty hands, exposure to extreme cold or chemical products. In addition to the company's newest breakthroughs, Ansell will present its unique audit methodology, focussed on selecting the most appropriate work gloves which in turn increases safety and productivity.
David Staniforth, Ansell Occupational Healthcare Europe, will be speaking about "Trends in Hand and Arm Protection Solutions". Balancing competing concerns around safety, productivity and standardisation is a challenge in all industry sectors. Ansell is approaching the issue using a unique hand protection solutions management programme, which builds an in-depth analysis of workstations, production units and processes, supported by Ansell's powerful proprietary auditing software tool called SafetyNet. Ansell's Event Partner Seminar is offered on 20 February from 11:15-11:45 in the Royal Box Room S1G, and on 21 February from 15:00-15:30 in S2J.
Amongst the new products presented during the fair is the AlphaTec™ glove, which provides a better wet/oily grip than any other similar glove available on the market today. This glove, which features Ansell Grip Technology™ (1), requires from 34-69% less grip force to lift heavy oily objects.(2) In partnership with the University of Birmingham, Ansell has successfully demonstrated the reduced necessity for grip force associated with this innovative coating. Improved grip can contribute to preventing the onset of occupational injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), and minimizing worker fatigue and stress. The glove's unique combination of grip and chemical resistance together with the flexibility and dexterity it offers make AlphaTec™ the logical choice when dealing with chemicals. AlphaTec's™ superior grip performance will be tested live at the Ansell stand (Stand No. 25).
The splash-resistant Touch N Tuff® gloves' 100% nitrile composition is highly recommended against the aliphatic hydrocarbons present in lubricants. Chemical permeation testing by the independent certified laboratory Centexbel (Belgium) (3), has confirmed that Touch N Tuff® offers high levels of protection compared to ten competing products. The single-use Touch N Tuff® ranked first or second for eight out of nine key chemicals from the principal chemical families.
Other innovations at the Ansell stand include Aquadri™ technology, an ultra-thin 0.025 mm polymer composite coating that absorbs up to four times more moisture than standard cotton-flock gloves. Tests have shown that with an Aquadri™ coating, the perspiration saturation point is reached 60% more slowly than with traditional cotton flock lined gloves. Aquadri™ has been integrated in the lightweight Virtex™ glove.
The latest in the industrial glove range, the brightly coloured PowerFlex® 80-400 is designed for handling and carrying in cold temperatures as low as -30°C. The glove's performance offers a real alternative to fur-lined leather gloves in both dry and wet conditions.
Ansell invites its clients and interested parties to view the latest technologies on display at the Ansell stand (Stand No. 25) at the Health & Safety '07 fair in Sandown Park from 20-21 February 2007.
(1) Ansell Grip Technology™ has been validated by the sensory neuroscience laboratory of the University of Birmingham.
(2) Oil grip tests on comparable gloves show that gloves with Ansell Grip Technology™ require from 34-69% less grip force to lift an oily 4.5 kilo object.
(3) Results are available from Ansell upon request.
