Committed to protecting the environment and minimising any environmental impacts of its operations, Ansell has established an Environmental Management System based on the international ISO 14000 standards for environment management. All our major manufacturing sites are certified to ISO 14001:2004, the most recent standard.
As an example, Shah Alam Malaysian, one of the major production sites, produces natural rubber latex surgical and examination gloves. The facility is ISO-certified for | quality and environmental management and is compliant with FD regulations, Japanese Pharmaceutical Affairs Law (JPAL), and Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Shah Alam is a participant in Ansell’s Green Productivity Programme. The aim is to achieve the most efficient and effective use of energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is being accomplished by installing energy efficient equipment, implementing energy recovery systems, installing high-efficiency heating and chilling systems, and through other renovations designed to keep buildings naturally cooler. |
